The First Amendment Doesn't Grant You 100% Protection

On September 6th, 2018, CNN posted an article written by AJ Willingham called The First Amendment doesn't guarantee you the rights you think it does.

The First Amendment can only protect you so much. It states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." You must know what to say and when to say it. You can't go up to your boss for instance and insult them using vulgar language. You will get fired and you can't use The First Amendment as protection. Or if giving a speech at a University, they must allow you to speak your mind. However, they can set terms such as where, when, and what matter you will be talking about.

This article is for anyone who needs a simple, yet efficient understanding of The First Amendment and how it protects you.
